Congressman Joe Kennedy III visited the Homes For Our Troops headquarters in Taunton, Mass., on Thursday morning, May 31, 2018.
Congressman Kennedy awarded HFOT with framed remarks from the House of Representatives and congratulated the staff for their hard work in reaching the achievement of awarding 250 homes. He also had the opportunity to tour the office, meet HFOT home recipient Michael Downing, and discuss ways to support the organization with President/CEO Tom Landwermeyer.
“By building accessible homes for injured Veterans, Homes For Our Troops helps our nation’s bravest men and women pursue an independent, bright future for themselves and their families. It is deeply humbling to represent this inspiring organization and its volunteers in Congress and I look forward to continuing to work by their side,” says Congressman Kennedy.
“We are grateful representatives such as Congressman Kennedy are dedicated to supporting our nation’s most severely injured Veterans. Having the devoted support from the American people is vital to enabling HFOT to get more deserving post-9/11 Veterans into the custom specially adapted homes they need,” says HFOT President/CEO Tom Landwermeyer.
