Three Homes For Our Troops Veterans were part of NBC Sports’ celebration of Hockey Day in America on Sunday, Feb. 16. The special feature included a series of stories about hockey’s impact and influence across the country. The segment on Marine Corporal Ben Maenza, Marine Lance Corporal John Curtin, and Marine Corporal Joseph Woodke highlights the bond they formed while playing Sled Hockey and recovering together from injuries they sustained while serving. They are now teammates on the Nashville Sled Predators.
The trio not only shares a love of sled hockey; they also all live near each other in the Nashville area. Cpl Maenza and LCpl Curtin are HFOT homes recipients; and Cpl Woodke is scheduled to receive his HFOT home this summer.
