SFC Jake Green

Pinehurst, NC

After the September 11 terrorist attacks, Jake Green felt it was his duty to serve. He enlisted in the Army, became a Green Beret, and served with both the 7th and 3rd Special Forces Groups.

Sergeant First Class Green deployed a total of six times, once each to Peru and Colombia supporting the Global War on Terror, and Afghanistan four times. In Afghanistan, he sustained severe damage to his right leg during combat operations. In 2015, after years of limb salvage operations, doctors amputated his leg.

Now medically retired, Jake and his wife, Kelly, are raising their sons, Marc, Ethan, and Aaron. Jake sits on the board of directors for OpenWater and works for Anotiva as an Operations Integrator.

Receiving a specially adapted custom HFOT home will allow Jake to rest and recover in his wheelchair. The mortgage-free home will enable him to spend more time with his family and give back to the community.

Originally from California, Jake is choosing to build his home in North Carolina because it is where he has spent his career and now considers the state his home.

Jake says he has difficulty finding the right words to express his gratitude for HFOT’s donors and supporters. “We do not feel worthy of such an exuberant gift, and we are honored to be part of such an amazing country and community that is beyond generous,” he says.
