Homes For Our Troops extends our deepest sympathies to the friends and family of Army Sergeant Thongpane “TD” Thongdeng, who passed away Monday, June 30, 2014.

TD was on his first deployment to Afghanistan when he became paralyzed and lost his right leg when the vehicle he was driving struck an improvised explosive device (IED). Homes For Our Troops was in the process of building TD a specially adapted home in Largo, FL. He was looking forward to living in a barrier-free environment where he could live independently and comfortably. A friend of many other HFOT Veterans, he would often attend the Groundbreaking and Key Ceremony events for others in the Tampa area.

A native of St. Petersburg, TD enjoyed fishing and swimming and loved spending time with his family. TD was a valued member of the HFOT Family, and we will miss him greatly.
