Forty-five years ago, on March 29, 1973, the last U.S. troops withdrew from Vietnam, ending America’s longest conflict to date. There were no Welcome Home parades to greet these brave men and women when they arrived back to the United States, nor had there been many warm receptions from their countrymen.
We at Homes For Our Troops realize Vietnam Veterans were not given the appropriate thanks or treatment for their service four decades ago. We also recognize that it is the quiet professionalism these heroes displayed, and their solemn vow to never let this happen again, that have caused America to appropriately welcome home our returning Veterans from our current conflicts.
On National Vietnam War Veterans Day – and every day – we want all Vietnam Veterans to know you are appreciated and honored for your service and sacrifice. Your patriotism and determination are the reasons Veterans today are treated with the respect and admiration they greatly deserve. Thank you for leading the way!
