September 11 is a federally recognized National Day of Service and Remembrance created to honor the victims of the 9/11 attacks and rekindle the spirit of unity and patriotism that brought Americans together in the aftermath of tragedy.
Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) believes in keeping this patriotic spirit alive. Here are some ways you can observe this day of service by supporting our nation’s severely injured post-9/11 Veterans and their families.
Attend a Build Event: You can support the building of a specially adapted custom HFOT home by attending a build event and welcoming a Veteran to the community. We have over 67 active projects nationwide. Find one near you.
Start a fundraiser: Hosting a fundraiser is a great way to support a worthy cause. Our fundraising team will be happy to assist you in getting an HFOT benefit off the ground. Please reach out to ifundraising@hfotusa.org.
Sign up for a race: Every year, hundreds of runners raise funds and awareness for Homes For Our Troops. There are two ways you can join the team, either on Team HFOT or as a DIY Runner. Decide which one is right for you! Check out our upcoming races here.
Join our monthly giving program: By joining Operation Lasting Support (OLS) for a minimum of only $15 per month, you can help form a reliable source of income that we can count on to assist us in advancing our mission. Sign up now!
Donate to injured Veterans: Join our monthly giving program, make a tribute gift, donate your car, or consider HFOT in your estate planning. There are several options to make the most of your contribution. Make a donation here.
Spread the Word: As a top-rated military charity with nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent going toward our program services, we keep advertising budgets low and rely on our supporters to help raise awareness. You can do this for HFOT by posting about our organization on your social media networks and telling others to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
