SGT RYAN NEWELL Marion County, KS Mission Accomplished on June 26, 2010   In January 2008, Army Sergeant Ryan Newell was deployed to Afghanistan when he lost both legs in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion. After being stabilized and with flight conditions improved, SGT Newell was airlifted to Landstuhl, Germany.
