The most important thing to a mother is to know her children are cared for and safe. As a Homes For Our Troops supporter, you are providing that reassurance to the mothers of more than 330 severely injured post-9/11 Veterans in specially adapted custom homes.
Marine Chief Warrant Officer 3 David Field‘s mother, Susan, is grateful to everyone who supported the building of her son’s home in Orangevale, California, earlier this year. In 2017, two years after retiring from the Marines, David was diagnosed with service-connected amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). When she first received the news, Susan worried about how her son would live independently. Now that David is living in a specially adapted custom HFOT home, with over 40 special adaptations including a lift system, Susan can feel at ease knowing her son has a barrier-free environment where he can receive full-time medical care.
“Homes For Our Troops gave David the faith and encouragement to keep going when he had this horrible diagnosis. We will be forever grateful to everyone involved. Thank you for the support and love you have given our son.”
Thank you for giving the moms of HFOT Veterans the best gift: A safe place for their children.
Happy Mother’s Day from Homes For Our Troops.
